Wiring a locking solenoid for reverse on a T-56 can be a frustrating process. Most often, the builder removes the lockout solenoid or does not wire the solenoid, which requires the driver to "muscle" the lockout into reverse. Barely shifting the shifter into reverse can cause damage to the transmission, while removing the lockout is likely to accidentally shift into reverse while driving. The T-56 and TR-6060 reverse solenoid are designed as a alternative to completely or "forcing" through the solenoid. The deleteer provides the proper resistance to reduce the risk of accidentally shifting into reverse without risking a "forced" shift. The unit is not a locking device and not completely prevent the driver from entering reverse.
