Saflax - Zinnia Mix - Zinnia elegans - 50 seeds - Spirited South American flowering wonders from Mexico. A nice gift for good friends - or for yourself. A small gift box (10 x 10 x 10 cm) with a pot, a dome lid made of biodegradable PLA for the ideal greenhouse climate, germ-free dried growing substrate and of course the seeds you have selected. Worth knowing: Zinnias are aster plants and belong to the daisy family. They are popular annual summer flowers that are ideal for perennial borders and pots and boxes on the balcony. Our mixture provides pretty splashes of color with its numerous different flowers from May to October. They are also very suitable for motley summer bouquets, which also last a long time in the vase. The flowers are brimming with nectar and are therefore popular with bees, bumblebees and many other insects.. Natural Place: The zinnia elegans originally comes from Mexico. Cultivation: You can sow zinnias directly in the garden from mid-May to June or grow them on the windowsill in March to April and then plant them in the garden as young plants. When pre-cultivating indoors, place the seeds about one centimeter deep in moist growing soil and cover the seeds with the growing medium. Don't plant the seeds too closely. You should place no more than one or two seeds in small growing pots. For seed trays, we recommend a distance of five to ten centimeters. Stretch cling film over the culture vessel and poke a few holes in the film. This protects the soil from drying out. You should remove the foil for 2 hours every two to three days. This prevents mold from forming on the growing soil. Place the seed pot in a light and warm place with 20 to 25° Celsius and keep the potting soil moist but not wet. It usually takes two to three weeks to germinate. After the ice saints, you can plant the seedlings outside. Direct sowing outdoors at a distance of a good 20 centimeters means less work, of course, but the plants will flower later. Place: Zinnias love a sunny and warm, preferably slightly sheltered location with rather dry but humus-rich soil. Care: Water well and feed the plants regularly with fertilizer for flowering plants so that they continue to produce new flowers. Even if it's difficult - snap out the first blossom. As a result, zinnias branch out and flower better later. Cut off faded and wilted plant parts again and again. Only then will your zinnias constantly form new flower buds. During Winter: Unfortunately, zinnias are very sensitive to frost and the first ground frosts cause the plants to die off. Plants kept in pots can be overwintered in a frost-free, cool and bright place. Then water sparingly, but don't let the root ball dry out completely.
