The PSE60G can deliver up to 60W of power over 8 cables. It features Gigabit, high-power, four-pair PoE injectors and a 60W, single-port, four-pair PoE midspan device that fully complies with the IEEE 802.3at draft 4.1 High-Power PoE specification. The PSE60G is compatible with a wide range of advanced PoE powered devices (PDs), including 802.11n access points, WiMAX CPE and base stations, and pan-tilt-zoom cameras that support high power and classification requirements according to the latest IEEE 802.3at specification. Supports four-pair powering and is compatible with two-pair powering for both midspan (MID) and end-span (END) applications. A key feature of the PSE60G is its ability to deliver high power across all four pairs of Ethernet PoE cables, significantly improving performance and efficiency compared to two-wire (two-pair) products. The four-pair PoE injector enables the PSE60G to deliver 60W while maintaining a low current draw of 600mA. This contrasts sharply with comparable two-pair devices, which draw a current of up to 1.2A when delivering 60W. Consequently, the more efficient PSE60G can deliver 51W of power to the PD using CAT5 cable, compared to only 30W for a two-pair solution. In addition to its 60W operating mode, the PSE60G can also be used to power two-pair devices at up to 30W. In this case, the midspan still utilizes all four pairs of CAT5 and higher cables, reducing the power wasted on the cable by up to 50%. PoE systems using the PSE60G can reduce energy losses by up to 15% compared to traditional two-pair solutions.
