ASTILBE \nEllie \nAstilbe is also known as False Goats Beard or False Spiraea and has become one of the mainstays of the damp, shaded or woodland garden. \nAn early flowering variety Ellie forms a compact mound of lacy, fern like foliage. \nThis glossy dark green feathery foliage unfurls in spring and is followed in June by graceful upright plumes of pure white flowers. \nAs they mature the flowers fade to green rather than brown making Ellie one of the very best white astilbe available. \nFills the garden with beauty like no other flower, and both the lush green foliage and blooms are great for cutting. \nAlthough Astilbe can tolerate some sun they thrive best when planted in a damp shaded border or beside water. \nVery adaptable and growing just 60cm tall, Astilbe Ellie can also be grown successfully in pots and containers providing the compost is kept moist. \nAll pictures used are of mature plants in full bloom and are for illustration purposes only, they may not reflect plants at all times of the year. \nOur plants of Astilbe Ellie are supplied ex. 9cm pots, they can be planted out immediately but better results may be obtained if they are grown on for a short time in a slightly larger container before transplanting to their final growing positions. \nRiver Lady has produced a wonderful little on this variety and you can view it here \nPACK 1 PLANT \nIMMEDIATE \n \n and view our wide and varied range of  Perennials  \n We ask all our buyers to remember Astilbe plants are living items and their appearance changes with the seasons.  Please don’t panic if the plant you receive looks different to the image on the website.
