Compact Ceramic-Sandstone Blade Sharpener

This manually operated skate sharpener is built around a high-density nylon frame housing two functional components: a sintered ceramic strip for efficient edge renewal and a natural sandstone rod for smoothing and finishing. Its dimensions — 14.5 × 3.0 × 2.1 cm (5.7 × 1.18 × 0.83 in) — ensure comfortable grip and direct blade engagement. It functions entirely without external power or alignment aids, relying instead on user-applied pressure and deliberate full-length strokes. Designed for real-world rink conditions, it supports both ice hockey applications — particularly for goalies managing intense lateral blade wear — and figure skating requirements, including precise toe pick conditioning and rocker maintenance through calibrated manual input.
