De BPI-RV2 is een RISC-V routerbord dat is uitgerust met de SF21H8898, een SOC-gatewaychip die is vervaardigd met het TSMC 12nm FFC-proces. De chip beschikt over een quad-core 64-bit RISC-V-processor en een speciale netwerkverwerkingsaccelerator. De SF21H8898 ondersteunt L2/L3-hardwareverwerking en IPv4/IPv6 dual stack, met een schakelcapaciteit van 20 Gbps.Het bord heeft een 2,5G WAN-interface en vijf Gigabit LAN-interfaces. Het geheugen bestaat uit 512 MB DDR3-RAM, 128 MiB NAND-flash en 16 MiB NOR-flash. De NAND-flash slaat het systeem en Linux op, de NOR-flash bevat het opstartsysteem en staat standaard in de leesmodus.Voor uitbreiding zijn er een M.2 2242-interface (ondersteunt NVMe SSD-schijven, PCIe gen 2 x1), een mini PCIe-interface (PCIe gen 2 x1, geschikt voor wifi-modules en bekabelde kaarten) en USB 2.0-poorten. Het bord heeft ook een microBUS-uitbreidingsbasis, ondersteunt voeding via 802.3at/af PoE en beschikt over een realtime klok (RTC), een resetknop en een gebruikersknop.De bundel bevat één BPI-RV2 routerbord.
