Set of 4 American holly plants (Ilex 'Nellie R. Stevens') - Height 40cm - 9cm pot.

Bring color and structure to your garden all year round with Ilex meserveae 'Nellie R. Stevens', a popular American holly with glossy, dark green foliage and an abundance of orange-red berries in the autumn. This evergreen ornamental shrub or small tree blooms in spring (April-May) with small white flowers, followed by striking berries in October and November – even without a male pollinator. 'Nellie R. Stevens' grows quickly, tolerates pruning well, and forms a dense, pyramidal shrub up to approximately 4 meters tall. Ideal as a solitary plant, in a hedge, or as a strong structural plant in borders. Also very suitable for Christmas greenery: the berry-bearing branches are beautiful in Christmas arrangements. Features: Evergreen: retains its glossy dark green foliage all year round Abundant berry formation: many orange berries without a pollinator, more with one. Ornamental value in every season: white blossoms in spring, berries in autumn Very winter-hardy (down to -20°C) and wind-resistant, also suitable for coastal areas. Easy to prune: easy to keep in shape as a hedge or solitary plant. Low maintenance: grows in any well-drained, humus-rich soil Location & care: Plant in a sunny to semi-shady spot in nutritious, well-draining soil. Provide some extra water during dry periods in the first few years. Prune in the spring to maintain the shape or allow to grow loose for a natural look.
